Music Composition for Screen
Missing - Original Short Film - [Version A 'Missing you'] 2023
A university project of two parts, its intention to highlight the importance of music in creating narrative and manipulating a viewer's emotional response.
To what extent does music manipulate one's understanding of visual media?
Missing - Original Short Film - [Version B 'Missing piece'] 2023
A university project of two parts, its intention to highlight the importance of music in creating narrative and manipulating a viewer's emotional response.
To what extent does music manipulate one's understanding of visual media?
Score Re-Write [Howl's Moving Castle] 2023
An original composition I created to accompany a scene from Studio Ghibli's famed 2004 screen spectacular, Howl's Moving Castle
As the scene in its original form is unacompanied it provided the perfect opportunity to create an underscore that I felt would highlight the developing relationships within the scene as well as encapsulate the charming ambience of a magical world.
Sonic Arts Composition
Sonic Arts - Experiment C51 The Revival Project Series [Recruitment] 2024
Inspired by digital horror that has intrigued audiences across the internet I decided to create my own tale that would be told only through sound. The Revival Project, also refered to as Experiment C51, tells the story of a world much like ours that is riddled with hidden secret horrors that can slowly be uncovered by the listener .
The first episode, titled Recruitment follows a test issued by the revival project.
Sonic Arts - Experiment C51 The Revival Project Series [Archives] 2024
The second installment of The Revival Project in which I took inspiration from analogue horror in order to explore a different sound world including tapes and the degradation of sound over time.
Archives follows a series of tapes revealing different media recorded during the project, each of them unveiling a different aspect of what was truely lurking within the project's intentions.
Sonic Arts - 'Industrial Forest' 2023
The title, Industrial Forest in this context is intended to mean something similar to the term ‘concrete jungle’; a juxtaposing turn of phrase that spotlights a fault in current society. This piece walks you the listener through a sonic narrative of the earth’s lifecycle which abruptly falls down the rabbit hole when human presence and need for progress quickly rids the world of what little life it has left. We must end our false ideas of progression before we are unable to turn back, for no life can be found in a metal maze of machines; no life can be sustained in an industrial forest.
To listeners this piece is one of two things; a warning or a prediction of the future, only time will tell which is correct.
Sound Design for Screen
Sound Re-Design [AGENT MX Z3RO] 2023
A university project in which I developed my skills within audio post production. The film, being produced by AVID the creators of Pro Tools was the perfect piece of media to experiment within this field.
All sounds heard within this short were edited and designed by myself. I utilised sound libraries, use of Foley, ADR for the two leading charcters and music which was sourced from the hit comedy spy thriller Johnny English and Mission Impossible.
This work was also mixed using surround sound 7.1 formatting.
Sound Re-Design [Pan's Labyrinth] 2022
A univeristy project in which all the sounds were recorded , edited and mixed by myself.
The scene is an extract from Guillermo del Toro's cult classic Pan's Labrynth within which the pale man is introduced.
Sound Re-Design [Ident Foley] 2022
A short university experiment in which I recorded and edited and mixed all sounds.
The clip used is an ident from the BBC Two NI television channel.
